What Is Sublocade?
Sublocade is an FDA-approved, extended-release injectable form of buprenorphine used to treat moderate-to-severe opioid use disorder (OUD) in adults. Unlike daily sublingual films or tablets, Sublocade is administered as a subcutaneous injection once a month by a healthcare provider.
Because the medication is delivered continuously over the course of a month, it eliminates the need for daily dosing and provides a consistent level of buprenorphine in the body. This can be beneficial for patients who prefer not to manage daily medication or who want to reduce the risk of missed doses.

Who May Be a Candidate?
Sublocade is generally considered for adults who have already been stabilized on a transmucosal buprenorphine product (such as Suboxone films or tablets) for a period of time. Candidacy is determined on an individual basis during your evaluation with Stacey Moretz, MSN, APRN, PMHNP-BC, FNP-BC.
